Local Information
Meeting Location
- • All talks take place in Dauer Hall on the UF campus. This is a pleasant ten minute walk from the conference hotel (AC Hotel).
- • On Friday morning, proceed to the Keene Faculty Center in Dauer Hall. Entering on the south side of the building puts you there.
Lunch Venues
- • There are lots of places along University Ave to the north of Dauer Hall, as well as places in the vicinity on campus. Your phone is your best guide on this score. Best vegan lunch is a quick bus ride down University (Karma Cream)
Dining Out
- • Probably you want to get yourself downtown (University & Main). Lots of options. For example: Dragonfly, The Top, Alpin Bistro. (The first two have good options for vegan.)
- • If you are looking for a spot close to the AC Hotel, Piesano's is a block away and does a good job with pizza.
- • If you are looking for an after-dinner cocktail downtown: Baby J's is for sure the swankiest (next door to Cry Baby's).
Bus Service
- • Route 5 runs along University Ave between UF and downtown. Single fare $1.50; 24-hour pass: $3. More bus info.
- • There is a bus (Rte 25) which runs to/from the airport which can get you within three blocks of the conference hotel, but we recommend taxi or uber.

Length
You should plan on having minutes presentation time. We suppose this to be the principal guide in judging the length of the paper you send. It is the norm at SEP meetings for speakers to present rather than read their papers (and this is a virtue), so it is to be expected that presentation time and page length will only loosely correlate.
That said, do please bear in mind that paper referees need to both grasp the content of your paper and be able to readily envisage how you could present it in the available time. So, if your paper runs long, you might for this reason want to prepare a shortened version.

Information for Speakers & Poster Presenters
Talks: Sessions are one hour, including Q&A, so you should plan to speak for 40 minutes or less.
Posters: Poster presenters will each have a space on a bulletin board approximately 36 inches (90 cm) high and 40 inches (100cm) wide. Plenty of push pins will be provided. You may use your space however you wish. The goal is to convey information about the research, but also to lure people into discussion about the work.
